Hi, I’m Adam Bailey – often known as “The Drumming Man”.
With over 20 years of teaching experience, including 12 years at the Local Music Hub, my passion for drumming and education is stronger than ever. I created and developed the Hub’s djembe program from the ground up, and now I’m focusing on working directly with schools through my business, All About Drumming.

By combining a deep knowledge of djembe traditions with proven, high-quality teaching practices, I deliver engaging, impactful sessions with real learning outcomes. Every project is led by me personally—no excessive admin, just a streamlined, professional experience focused on what matters: bringing the joy and power of drumming to students.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of studying with several renowned djembe experts and masters, including Vieux Bakayoko, Sidiki Dembelé, Mamady Keita, Nansady Keita, Seckou Keita, Iya Sako, and Hans Sutton.

Travelling to Senegal for intensive study was a truly eye-opening experience—one of many that have shaped my journey toward a deeper understanding of this rich and vibrant tradition.

This is a lifelong path of learning. There’s always more to explore—new rhythms, subtle nuances, and fresh perspectives.
